Visitor Attractions Monitor
Since Autumn 1997 the Yorkshire Tourist Board has carried out a survey of a sample of York attractions. The survey shows year-on-year trends, i.e. compares visitor numbers on a month-by-month basis for the current year compared to the previous year.
The results for York since the start of this survey are as follows:

- Nov 97 +5%
- Dec 97 +19%
- Jan 98 +12%
- Feb 98 +29%
- Mar 98 -20.9% NB Easter was March in 1997, April in 1998.
